Dandelion Tea

Dandelion Tea

Dandelion leaf, known as a weed that won't go away, is actually a most valuable general tonic and perhaps the best widely applicable diuretic and liver tonic. Dandelion root is traditionally used to promote liver and digestive health.*

  • PRODUCT INFO

Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinale, blowball, cankerwort, cochet, couronne de moine, herba taraxaci, lion's teeth, lion's tooth)

ACTIONS: Antimicrobial, Antirheumatic, Antiviral, Cholalogue (promotes increased flow of bile), Diuretic, Hepatic (aid in liver health), Laxative, Bitter.*

MEDICINAL USES: Dandelion leaf has traditionally been used as a diuretic in cases of water retention and bladder or kidney problems. Unlike syntheic diuretics, dandelion leaf is a good source of potassium and replenished rather than depletes this important nutrient.*

The root is a classic liver tonic and blood purifier, with a stimulating and decongesting effect on the liver. It also may encourage optimal digestion, with a rich supply of bitter compounds that, having stimulated receptor sites on the tongue, signal the digestive tract that food is coming. It also can stimulate the production of bile, which helps break down cholesterol and fat. It can be used for chronic jaundice, autointoxication, rheumatism, blood disorders, chronic skin eruptions, chronic gastritis, and aphthous ulcers.*

PREPARATION & DOSAGE: To make infusion (drinking tea), pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of dried herb and infuse for 10-15 minutes, 3x daily. To make root decoction, put 2-3 teaspoons of root into 1 cup of water, bring to a boil, and gently simmer for 10-15 minutes, 3x daily.

To achieve the best results, follow Dr. Sebi's Nutritional Guide, which reflects an African Biomineral Diet. Since food is medicine, the true healing comes from daily eating choices with the support of herbal remedies.
